Requirements for Worldwide Remote Magnetic Compass Adjustment
Master will be required to supply details of compass, spare parts if any, copies of compass observations, last compass adjustment details and present Gyro error. (pictures would be advised if available)
On board communication details – email address, Skype, teams, or other that will accommodate the client.
Procedure for Worldwide Remote Magnetic Compass Adjustment
- Contract with owners/ management
- Check list, forms and Detailed instructions for ships master supplied
- Communications with vessel to facilitate remote magnetic compass adjustment
- Complete remote magnetic compass adjustment can be completed while under way in reasonably calm seas in approximately one hour.
- Once completed a certificate will be issued, signed by the official compass adjuster and ships master.
- If it is established that the vessel required spares i.e. magnets, quadrantal plates, spare compass etc. these can be supplied to next port of call.
